Location Bar Enhancer just got updated to version 5.0 .
This version brings about many bug fixes, some related to race conditions causing hangs, some related to username and password displayed in the breadcrumbs and some related to instantaneous update of the breadcrumb. The most important one was the proper handling of file:/// and chrome:// type urls which were completely broken earlier.
There are a few new feature updates also:
- You can now customize every shortcut used in the add-on via the preferences. They are named accordingly so that you know what you are changing.
- The default shortcut for launching the add-on’s Options window has been changed to
Ctrl + Alt + Las the previous one is now being used internally by Firefox. - You can now choose whether to break the breadcrumbs inside of a query string’s value or not like for url’s like “http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?92190-New-Memory-Tweaker-for-Intel-Chipsets/page2″ at the “/page2″ position. This is controlled via a hidden preference named
splitQueryStrings.
As always keep spreading my add-on to your friends and sharing the link on your Facebook, Twitter or Google Plus.
PS: I will be soon starting on a big feature for this add-on that will allow people to push and promote links etc. on relevant pages using the breadcrumb menus.
UPDATE: The feature that I would be working on is not advertisement, nor it will track any data from users. It is still in my mind, and trust me, it will still be a feature, and not spam/ads/tracking/etc kind of malaware.

If you add any push/promotion I will dope the addon. In app advertising and is unacceptable.
Are you collecting urls yet as you would need to for such a ‘feature’ to operate? That too would cause me to drop the addon.
Hi there, no tracking is acceptable, no tracking is done right now, and not even if the feature gets into Location Bar Enhancer.
It is not advertisement, nor you will even see it anywhere. What I right now plan to do is to add just one url on top of the list of url that appear in the breadcrumb menu. And that too if the url matches the domain of the page you are.
Once again, I am against tracking and collecting information, so I would never do that.
The code is all open source, you can have a look at it if you prefer afterwards.
Hi, thanks a lot for the update to this marvelous add-on.
But about the new feature, i guess some are gonna like but please if possible add a way to disable it. Otherwise i think i’ll just stick with the current version.
Thanks and good luck with your future projects.
Of course, sure.
, to know how people pre-react to it, and to prepare and cast the feature accordingly.
That is why I gave a hint of the feature here, for feedback
Great addon. I used LocationBar2 before, but after finding this addon I switched.
Small feature request; clicking the last path name part (/location-bar-enhancer-v5-0/ on this page) won’t do anything. Could you make it so that clicking it will reload the page…?
Keep up the great work.
Hi, please open up the issue on https://github.com/scrapmac/UIEnhancer/issues and we will further discuss it.

Thanks
truly nice, better effect…
firefox rocks…
Could you add an option to change the text colour of the URL? The grey on grey is hard to read.
Also, it would be nice to have an option to bold the domain name to make it more appearent.
Sure, please open an issue on the github page. Thanks
This is awesome! Great implementation! I like the features requested above as well. Keep up the good work!
