Another week with UI shifts. This week, the zooming part of the UI was completed. Now users will see the whole Timeline in a zoomed out view by default. You can click and drag to select a smaller time range to inspect events that occurred in that time range. Clicking and dragging on the Time ruler at the bottom will allow you to move your inspecting time range. Click the ‘Overview’ button to move back to the zoomed out view (overview). If you click the ‘Overview’ button while in overview, you will be zoomed into ‘Live View’ as discussed in the previous report. You can still freeze/unfreeze the timeline view at the current time by pressing the play button.
Next feature is the most important feature, developer wise. The displaying of important details regarding he event on hovering the event dot/line. I will complete this feature next week. Also, currently, there are too many buttons in the UI, making things a little complicated. I will also discuss this issue with my mentor, Panos, and figure out a way to make the UI as simple as possible.
Just after the next week is the mid term evaluation. It would be very nice to have the full UI completed by that time.
